A friend of mine e-mailed me with this question, and I thought I'd post it here in case anyone was confused or curious:
He wanted to know if this was considered ground benzoin.
The answer is no. A grounded herb is the pure grounded form of an herb that is used in making incense and resins. While this benzoin resin may be a pure incense, it has been tainted in some way even if it with very little fragrances. Now, you can use this in aromatherapy, I just don't think it will be as effective.
